Eva Georgitsopoulou is a Greek contemporary dancer/choreographer and dance teacher based in Berlin and Athens. She studied in the National School of Dance KSOT in Athens and the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company International Program in Israel honored by the company with a Full Scholarship. She moved in Berlin in 2014 where she was amazed by the richness one could find in the freelancing field. Berlin felt a familiar place where dancers from different backgrounds were constantly sharing and exchanging  their experiences. She collaborated with various independent choreographers and started shaping InsidExtremity, a class structure based on her personal way of training and Improvising.

As a professional dancer in Germany, she worked with Cia Sonia Rodriguez, Inside The Body Performing Arts, Frantics Dance Company, Judith Sanchez Ruiz, Edivaldo Ernesto etc.

From 2016 to 2021 she was a project base performer with Aerites Dance Company in the projects Cementary, Polites (Citizens defeated) and Hero. She collaborated, as well, with Patricia Apergi as an assistant choreographer on Prometheus and the Rebels of Today for the company Compagnia EgriBiancoDanza (2017), Citizens Defeated-in the Framework of Epidaurus Lyceum (2018), Return Trip Athens / Reggio Emilia Fonderia for Agora Coaching Project (2019) and as a creative collaborator in the project National Adulthood with the dancers of the Greek National Opera Ballet (2021). She worked with Konstantinos Rigos ,the director of Greek National Ballet, as an assistant choreographer in Bolero by Maurice Ravel (2021). From 2019 until today, she collaborates as a project based performer with Sasha Waltz & Guests in the projects Nobody, Tannhäuser, in C and SYM-PHONIE MMXX.

Her choreographic creations have been staged in several places and theaters since 2015. Her work BadTrip was presented in Athens Video Dance Project 2016. Her Solo work miTerra was staged in Katapult Berlin, Tanzfabrik open night, Amalgam-Solo Dance Performance Festival, Kalamata  International Dance Festival, Dance Days Chania and Lange Nacht Des Tanzes Pliberg. In 2021, she choreographed W(h)oman for the 5th online Festival of the Greek National Opera Ballet and the solo work Groove, produced by and performed in Athens Epidaurus Festival 2021. Her new creation “A signal that travels down through your heart (episode #1)", under the auspices and with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports premiered in Arc for Dance Festival 2022.

Eva's vision focuses on the ability of the body to speak through physical vocabulary. Eva is attracted by the idea that each body can become a storyteller through the international language of dance. She is constantly looking for ways in which dance would develop as a communication tool and therefore as an artistic source that expresses social needs and concerns of the humanity. Her aim is to create universes which bring her honest understanding of the world on stage using philosophical patterns and questions as the main source to create physical dialogues between dancers and audience.
